Activities
The ranch consists of 250 acres. There are many paths and roads available in the area for your exploration. Horsebacking riding with or without a guide can be arranged for a modest fee. Experienced riders may want to rent a horse on a weekly basis. The same paths serve as wonderful day excursions for hikes or four wheel drive tours.

Local tours, including roping demonstrations, eco tours and cultural tours.

Meals  can be arranged with a local family in the nearby village which is a ten minute walk from the ranch. (See all inclusive rate here)

Ideas for excursions:
Shrine of the miraculous Virgen of Talpa nestled high in the mountains, a beautiful drive through the high sierra of pine forests and volcanoes. Hot aprings of Villa Corona-- try a fully equipped water park with hot water (private baths available also)! Tour the colonial villages of Ayutla, Tenamaxtlan, Cocula (home of Mariachi). Try our cultural tour, visiting a cheese factory, precious stone mine and giftshop, historical ruins, and local villages.  We're a 3 hour drive from the beach of Barra de Navidad, one of the unspoiled spots left on this part of the Pacific coast.  Fish in the lake of Miraplanes, five minutes from the ranch, or arrange in advance a hunting expedition with local hunters.
Guadalajara is just a two hour drive over beautiful mountain scenery. As the second largest city in Mexico, you can find anything you want or need there: the largest covered market in Mexico, modern commercial malls, 16th century historic center, world class universities. The state of Jalisco is home to mariachi bands, charreadas (a type of rodeo) and of course, tequila. We can help you find your way around on your own or book a tour. See links page for more information.
Please note that we do our best to arrange private tours for you with local English speaking residents at approximately $100 USD per full day's tour per party.

How to get here:

The closest airport is Guadalajara (two hours). Other possibilities include Manzanillo(3 hours) or Puerto Vallarta (5 hours). We are located approximately 15 hours from Laredo, Texas. The closest beach is 3 hours from the ranch (San Patricio de Melaque). There is regular bus service from Guadalajara passing near the ranch. There is no public transportation from the bus stop on the highway to the ranch, but we would be happy to pick you up (no charge).

We can also arrange car rental and hotel reservations for an add-on to Guadalajara or Puerto Vallarta.  In short, we are here to help you with whatever you need!
